synthetic oil
Mobil 1 was the factory fill on my Porsche. Ditto on my wife's Mercedes ML and her new Toureg.
If my memory serves me correctly Mobil One was the factory fill on Mastercrafts in 94. Indmar extended the warranty on the engine provided the owner submitted oil samples at prescribed intervals.
The debate on synthetics is never ending. When I read PCM's notice what I see is that the use of synthetics DOES NOT allow the extension of oil change intervals even though it MAY provide better lubrication under cold start ups.
I have used Mobile One in my 95 Mastercraft, 99, 02 and current 05 Nautiques. With all of the things that can fail in an internal combustion engine, I doubt that the use of synthetics makes any difference at all. I feel better about it so I spend the extra, probably more for my piece of mind than any real benefit.
