    New Perfect Pass features

I was thumbing thru Wakeboarding magazine and noticed the ad for the new Perfect Pass units. Basically, they allow you to program and save speed settings with the riders name, a very cool feature.

    <Riders Name> <Set Speed> <Current Speed>
    ------Murray------------23.7--------------23.9

The point of my question is this, can a software upgrade add this feature or do you need to purchase new hardware?

It can be purchased, you change the chip in the master module. It is real easy to do. More information on www.perfectpass.com The chip that does this is the 6.5N

George - Thanks for the info!

I have an 02 SANTE and just going off memory I believe I have the Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro model. I'm not near my boat right now but I only recall it having a single display line, not the H U G E multiline display's like the new models (see pic below). Looks like I would need the $349 kit, the $65 kit isn't for the Wakeboard Pro models it seems

I've had 6.5N since June and it's to much punching button's to get to people's names. I just have it set to my name and if someone wants to go faster or slower just push the up down arrow.............

It seems like it would be great for multi use, such as Wakeboarding, then Surfing. I hate how long it takes to travel from 20 to 9. And then on rare occasion I ski someone at 32.

If you have Wakeboard Pro, all you need is the $65 chip upgrade. If you want the new display that will be an extra $199.

Yeah, I could see putting wake and surf as the names in there, each at a certain mph. Good thinking.

that is what we use it for on mine. otherwise it is pretty pointless, everyone I ride with pretty much rides within 1 mph of each other.
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

BozBoarder, don't you use rpm mode for skiers? it's a better pull and less button pushes.

I haven't tried the RPM mode... I will read up on it and try it out.

Perfect Pass recomends RPM mode for any speed over 24! I have tried both and use RPM when I foil at 27 mph (around 3075 rpm)!

I had the PP Wakeboard Pro installed at the begining of the season. When it starts up it says 6.5N.

It has a 1 line display and I don't have any options to set up names.

                          Am I missing something?
Anybody else have this version of PP?

Read your manual. Your unit can store names!

The multi line display is new as of Sept 1st. Figures.... I buy pp and they come out with a new display the next season.

I remember reading through every page of the manual that came with my 6.5n upgrade chip. I did not see anything on how to store the names. I just figured it out myself. I think all you need to do from the default screen is press the "menu" and "^" buttons together. Then it will say "Quicklist ? = ^". Press the up arrow to access the quicklist, which is where you store the names. If you can't find the info in your manual and are still confused, you can PM me for some in depth instructions.
