How much $$ to install a heater in a SAN?

I am taking my boat down to White Lake next week to have a heater installed. I have (or will have) the heater, so I am just trying to figure out how much the installation should set me back. It is the standard Heatercraft heater that comes with Super Airs with that option. I assume they'll need to remove the windshield and/or the dash to mount the defroster vent. Has anyone had one installed before?

Jeff it is about 2 hours to install one without the vent and about 3-3.5 hours with the vent because they have to remove the windshield. Hope that helps!

Your time estimates were right on. I had it installed by White Lake Marine last week, and ended up being charged for about three hours labor. I had the heater installed (with defroster vent), had my tracking fins replaced under the recall, and had my shifter adjusted so that it would engage reverse properly (warranty as well). I can't wait for spring...

Now if I can just add the flip-up driver's seat...

No. I remember hearing something about that before, but I don't know the specifics. I think Eric might have checked that before he sold me the boat, but is there some way I can check it myself to be sure? I'd hate to be out on the water and have something happen that could have been prevented in the off-season.

Wait a minute... Is what you're talking about the same as the 5.0/5.7 Wiring Recall by PCM? I did hear about that, but I didn't have it checked out. Do you have details on how I could check it myself?

This is different than the wiring recall. That recall is to physically replace wires for the engine. The one that I am referring to involves your three sets of relays on the engine. Your dealer should be looking for this stuff to make sure it is taken care of. You just have to pull apart all three relays and make sure that all of the pins are making good connections. If not, you just use something that you can put in there to push the little tab over to make a better connection. I would just call White Lake and see if they took a look at it or not. Otherwise, it takes less than 5 minutes.
