Fuel Pump issues on 2003 Super Air 210

I have a 2003 Super Air 210. I have been stranded and towed in twice over the last couple of weeks. The boat runs while unloading from the trailer, then dies when pulling a boarder. It then will not restart until the start button is cycled several times. I can get the motor restarted but then it dies again. I tried draining the fuel control cell to remove any water that may have been in there. The same problem persist. Any Ideas?

Have you tried changing the filter element? It might be clogged. Just a guess.

Sounds like the exact problem that we had. I thought it was fuel related, and turned out to be what I call the relay connections. They are located on top the motor when looking to the rear, they are on the front left side. I believe the Correct Craft put out a bulletin on this problem. A small amount of electrical grease on the right connection can fix the problem. I could actually move mine and it would stall the engine. Same thing when it would die out, I could move the connection to re-start. My dealer worked me thought the problem when we were on vacation. After vacation I took it to them, they made some sort of adjustment to the connections and never had the problem again. I was glad to have the problem fixed quickly, at first I was afraid I would be chasing a ghost. Good luck. You situation sounds exactly the same. Let us know what you finally find the problem to be. I'd bet $ it's one of the relays.

Yep, It is the relay connections. If I touch one of the relays the pump starts running. One of the terminals looks a little burnt (very slightly). I bent this one to make a better connection and it seems to have fixed the problem for now.

If it is getting hot enough to open the reseptical it must not be sized correctly for the electrical load. Unless the load is high for some other reason.

I read the Recall attachment you sent and it says it is for the charging system. Also says it came out in 2002. Is there a recal for the Wire Harness or the harness plugs in 2003?

Great.... I thought for sure the relays would be the problem. I don't think that Correct Craft ever had a recall on the relays. It was just a bulletin explaining the problem. A little electrical grease on the connection you found may provide a little better connection.

Had the same problem on my 97 ski. Moving one would cause the other to kick in causing the fuel pump to start. Crazy!

Thanks for posting! Had intermittent fuel
pump issues on my 2003 Super Sport 210 this summer and was easily able to troubleshoot it down and replace the relay! Love when it’s an easy fix to get me back on the water.
