    Rub rail insert

    Looking for a blue rub rail insert for my 1997 SN. The dealer said they were back-ordered two months ago. Any suggestions? thanks.

    RE: Rub rail insert

    I've read somewhere that West Marine may carry the inserts. Someone
    said the manufacturer was a company named TACO.

        RE: Rub rail insert

        Minimum orders to TACO for rubrail insert is 50ft... Sometimes it's 100ft. In any case, I've ordered it several times for boats and if you find a local marine repair shop with a "Land & Sea" marine supply catalog, you'll get it WAY cheaper than West Marine.
        I would be glad to assist you if you don't wanna deal with someone local to you.

          Has anyone installed a chrome insert rub strip on anything newer than a 02?

            Just checked: TACO apparently did not supply CC with rubrail

            I just checked in the TACO Marine catalog and Correct Craft is not listed as a customer... MasterCraft is, but not CC

            You can contact "Handy Hank" at TACO Marine for additional assistance;
            800-653-8567 or email handyhank@tacomarine.com

            Good luck with it.

              Another option instead of replaceing the blue rub rail insert is to take it out, and then put it in a bathtub of hot water. The hot water lets the plastic "relax" and almost all of the sharp curves go away. Then put the rub rail insert in with the scuffed side on the inside.
              It looks new, and you do not have to buy a new one.
