Took the SAN up to Nacimiento for a three day. Simply beautiful, wildlife everywhere, full lake, fog burning off around 9:00 am, great water, not too crowded at all.
Anyway, we were cruising at about 3700 RPM up the lake and I do my usual glance at the gauges and notice the Oil pressure gauge is at zero. As my stomach sinks and I become short of breath my reaction is to knock on the gauge. I did so and it fluttered, a couple more taps and it went back up to 50. The alarm had not gone off, so I figured it's the usual loose connection or corroded connection etc. We ran all weekend just fine and I would tap the gauge occaisionally and see the needle wiggle.
I have yet to open up the gauge pod and check it out, but thought I might post it first to see what some folks think about all that. I know there is also a sending unit etc. Is the sender the one that the gauge reads?? Does the alarm also use the sender?? We had just changed the oil, but I can't see how that is the problem since tapping on the gauge made it act normally.
Our infamous digital gauges are beginning to go as well, bars and lines missing on both the RPM and Speed. I know CC offers a swap package. Is this easy to install (Plug and Play??)
Thanks in advance.
