    vinyl cleaning problems

The sides of all of the seat cushions (where they are pressed up against other cushions) have developed a yellowish stain as well as little black dots that look like fly specs but are probably mold. Soap doesn't touch either and Fantastic is not much better. Anybody come up with a cleaning solution or technique that works?

Try the magic eraser from Mr. Clean. Dilluted bleach will also work, but be carefull with it, a little goes a long way. Make sure you rinse well to avoid light spots.

I would add to the above after scrubbing with anything strong use Formula 303 protectant afterward. In the future it is best to move the cushions after use so they aren't touching and are dry.

Try MSG Marine Specialties Group vinyl cleaner by G&T vinyl. Its the same company that provides the vinyl to CC.

Yup, it's mold. Be cautious with strong cleaners cause they will remove the plasticizer in the vinyl and eventually cause it to be brittle. Try using plain old hydrogen peroxide that you use as an antiseptic. It should kill the mold and then use Fantastic (per CC) to clean it up.

Go to MSG Marine Specialties Group web site. Clean the vinyl with Fantastic (not 409) and then use 303 protectant. Our 02 NS came with a flyer from Marine Specialties group.

The best I found for those hard spots was Go-Jo hand cleaner..
its in the orange container...Put on some rubber gloves, put some of the
go-jo on the spots and start rubbing,,It may take a time or two...But it works for me........
