    replacement vinyl

Where is a good place to find some replacement vynil that can stand up to being used in the boat? we are going to be recovering and redoing most of the interior of our 87 martinique. i really like the feel of the newer nautique vynil, as ours is pretty stiff and alot is worn out..
    thanks,
    kyle

Just make sure it is marine vinyl as there is a profound difference and the automotive or standard vinyls will NOT hold up long in the marine enviroment....especially when people stand on the seats.

In dealing with an upolstery shop, I've asked about CC choice of vinyls and he flat out said that their vinyl isn't the best around and that you could get much better vinyl. He particularly didn't like the thin layer of foam backing and that it doesn't stand up all that well to wear and tear.
He did recommend to keep it clean in order to get the most years out of it. Seems that dirt and other contaminants are really the culprit to vinyl breakdown, aside from sun exposure.

I agree. My '82 vinyl started to show wear after one season in the sun. never again. I clean and protect my '04 weekly!

ok, i will look in the phone book and see what i can find.
we have never treated our vynil as far as i remember and it has only a couple of patches and the rear sunpad was replaced sometime, so the older vynil must have been better on our boat.
it really isnt that bad, but i think we are going to try and make the boat look better over this winter.
