What type of antifreeze should be used when winterizing? I'm planning to fill the block, manifolds, and all hoses with antifreeze for the winter. This will be my first time winterizing, so any hints are appreciated.
Thanks

The pink RV/Marine antifreeze should be used. That type is not harmful to the environment, and does not need to be drained at the end of the winter prior to dropping the boat in the water.

What is the RV/Marine antifreeze rated for, I'm moving to Montana where the temp can drop to the -20's. Would you recommend filling the block with the AF, or leaving it empty?

I hear this one alot. I was told NOT to use the pink stuff but to use the blue (made for boat engines). I was told the pink says Boat and Rv for the plumbing if is has it. I was told it doesn't have anti-metal corrosives like the blue does?????? Like I said. Just what I was told.

The big thing is to use a non toxic marine antifreeze with corrosion inhibitors. You can use the pink or the blue kind. One brand that works real well is starbrite. You can also use an equivalent to it. I have never used the stuff that you can pick up at an Auto Zone or Murrays but I have heard of people using it. Stay away from the green antifreeze!
