I am having trouble getting my new prop to slide on over the key. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

RE: Prop Installation
Should just be get the prop key way hole lined up and then push it on the shaft. Might want to try and put the prop on without the key and make sure it'll fit on the shaft. Then you could slide the key into the key way, unless it has the holding pin.

RE: Prop Installation
You might have a burr on the key which is making things difficult. Also, make sure the key is setting down in the key way and not rising up when you are sliding the prop on the shaft. Put the key closer to the threaded part of the shaft to give it room to slide in the key way as you install the prop.

RE: Prop Installation
Use a small file and lightly file the key on all 4 sides/corners and dont forget the key way too. Next w/o the key, slide the prop all the way on and mark the top location on the shaft w/ a sharpie. Replace key in key way, watch the key as you slide the prop on to make sure it isnt following the prop. The key needs to stay down in the "valley". Once lined up the prop should end up where your sharpie mark is without binding and will come off easy too.
