Engine Temp.

I have a new to me SAN 196 w/ 5.0 2002 model I have noticed as the season goes on and the water gets colder it has more and more hesisation out of the hole when you go to full throttle off an idle. If you ease it up there is no hesisation.

my engine temp never has even got up to 140 deg. What temp should this motor run. I think I have a bad T-stat. I was just off of the 100 deg. mark in 42 deg. water sunday and major bogg out of the hole. :x

Sounds like your thermostat is sticking. Normal temperature should be right around 160*.

new themostat will fix this right up. I had the same problem with my 2003 SAN with the Excalibur.
