Integrating custom ballast to key pad on 2003 SAN

I am going to plumb a fatsac in the belly locker of my 2003 SAN. I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I would like to use the "Belly Ballast" button on the keypad to control a Jabso impeller pump that I will change the polarity on to fill / empty via a skin fitting on the transom.

Is this possible to do this with the keypad button, or should I just keep it simple and use a three position toggle?

    Thanks
    Brad

u should be able to use that button as just the switch for it. of course its not going to power the pump so u will have to hook ur pump to a source of power and then u can run that power line to the belly ballast button. i have my tower lights wired to it like that and it works fine. a few other people i know run that setup too so u should be ok

      Brownie,
I did this exact project on my 04 SAN, but insteat of using a jabsco pump I used the areator pumps that are similar to the ones that came stock on my back tanks. I also purchased the helm controls because I added another water pickup.
The wires are probally already run fo you. On my 04 they were just zip tied up so they werent hanging. The only problem I see you having is that the stock wires are are already run are not going to be heavy enough for that pump. The pump you want to use draws a lot of power. I will post some pictures of my install when I get home tonight.

thanks for the replies guys. I haven't looked at the back of the key pad yet. Where abouts did you connnect the new wires, are they at the key pad or somewhere else? I haven't played with anything yet.
