    Trailer pics

Hi, I am just about to convert my trailer to a more nautique friendly one as it was originally built for a bigger cruiser. It would be great if any one has any pic of there trailer with out the boat on if you could either post them or e-mail them to me. All if possible a pic with the boat on as well so I can see how it sits.

    Thanks

      Hi Brad

I just completed an overhall of my 87 trail..(checker plate rusted out)..I went to my dealer and took pics of a trailer with out a boat on it..and made some measurements..I don't know how the pics will email but your more than welcome to anything I have..(just have to scan theme first and I'am not at home).. I cut out all the checker plate, then went to a scrap metal place and found all the metal I needed..now you can't tell what year this trailer is..came out great.. it is alot of work and if your paying some guy to weld you may be better off buying a used trailer..if your just changing the rails the boat sits on then it should be no big deal.. my total cost was $500-$700 (CND).. but I did everything but the welding(had a buddy do it for a case of beer..Canadian beer is expensive..lol.)

      good luck

Yeah it’s an 80 barefoot, it’s a galvanised trailer so no rust but the problem is the boat sits really high as the trailer was originally for a bigger cruiser and so the axles are quite high. This means the boards that the boat sits on have to be really high so the prop and tracking fins clear the cross members. I am not to bad with a welder so am going to do it all my self but I still need to buy the braked axles and a new coupling.

Look in the phone book under trailers...there should be a trailer supply store in there that has all you'll need...

note: I'am sure you allread know this..but wear a good mask when welding galvinized...I got sicker than a dog welding that stuff.
