01 Air Nautique Ballast Valve Question

Friend's boat weeps water out of the ballast vents when under power. Sign that I need to replace the valves by the driver's seat?

Also Humming Bird Air and Water Temp guage... Where is the water sensor located?

Probably, but the valves are located near the thru-hull fittings, not by the driver's seat. The controls are all that's up by the driver's seat. You might want to hold off for a few days though. Rumor has it that CC will be making a statement about leaking ballast valves in the near future.

Echolodge you should have the valve style that looks like the shower valve system that is availible from heatercraft that is installed in the side pod behind the seat. you may have to disassemble the valves and check to see if the o-rings or seats are worn. but you may be able to get parts from heatercraft to fix this problem.

Echo, I believe that the helm controls are exclusively cable; no water runs up that far in the ballast system. The "valves" most report are leaking are the red Flow-Rite (aka FLow-WRONG) valves in either the bilge for rear tank(s) or in the ski locker for belly tank. ER

Did the '01 boats have Flow-WRONG valves? I thought it was 3 yrs of production, maybe model years '03, '04, & '05? ER

Guys... I am not sure what my friend's boat has. It is a 2001 Air (Sport) Nautique. There are two valves by the driver's gunnel. I assume that they are going bad. I will be going back up to my river home after turkey and will be taking them apart. I was hoping I could get some advice as to what I can bring up to fix the problem.

the two white knobs (vlvs) by the dirvers seat control on the pro series (and sports 99 to 01)are the vents to the port and starboard balast tanks... the weeping at the rear vents is due to a check vlv above the tank.. they are flapper type check vlvs and must be installed perfectly veritcal to seal correctly...... note cc installed them in a flex line with no supporting brackets... poor design...(just like my seat bottom cushions all torn out at seams but thats another post) I got tired of trying to adjust mine and removed them and replaced with a ball vlv... I can fill till it p's out the aft vents then close the two upper vlvs (that repalced the ck vlv) and close the intake vlv in bilge and not loose balast while we wakeboard. the vent vlvs behind the driver dont do much.. will fill/drain slightly faster if open... they can be disassembled and o-rings repalced if your so inclined... just make a trip to a real hwd store and match them up... really simple system... just looks fancy...
