Water pump belt

Does anyone know the size or part number for a water pump belt on the 5.8L GT-40? I had a heck of a time finding someone in town that carried the right belt for the alternator...hopefully the water pump belt won't be that bad. Thanks for the help-

I actually was trying to get the part numbers so I could pick the belt up from an auto shop here in town. Does anyone know where I can find this information?

Are any of the numbers ledgible on the belt???? The auto parts store should be able to cross it over in their system. If not just take the belt in and they should be able to measure it. Try NAPA, I always have good luck there.

The belt was completely shredded - no numbers and you can't see how long it was. That's why I need part numbers...

Take a guess, I had a similiar thing happen last summer, bought several sizes from an auto parts store, one of them worked and returned the rest

Looks like calling a dealer like skinautique originally said is your best bet or using the above web sites. In the time since the original post has been on this site, they could have shipped you one and you would then have the size and part number for future reference.

Just call the dealer, get the part number from him, then go to the auto store. It's not a complicated process.

Not that I should have to explain myself, but when I posted an add on to this original post it was early this morning - with this information I could have gotten one from a parts house, as a dealer is not open today. The boat is being sold soon and I was trying to get something done today.
