    Couple of Technical Questions???

Okay, i am installing two amps into a 94 ski nautique. I have pulled up some carpet from up under the closed bow on the drivers side wall.

    1. Under my carpet there seems to be foam on the carpet (probably for bouancy). How do i get rid of this down to the fiberglass so i can epoxy something.

    2. After i get rid of question 1, is there an epoxy that will bond metal to fiberglass? Has anyone used Loctite Marine Epoxy?

    Thanks for any help. -MG

    MG,

Best bet is to scrap it off. You can probably use some chemical, acetone, gas, but, it'll make a bloody mess.
As for epoxying something down you could always just use Resin to encapsulate whatever you're putting down, more than likely wood. I've used liquid nails to put up some centra board on my gunwales for mounting my amps to and that's been holding up now for two years. You'll probably be okay with just about anything you use.
