    1972 PerfectPass problem

I own a 1972 CorrectCraft, model Ski Nautique.
Perfect Pass says my throttle cable needs to pull carb open in order to have PP work.
In 1972 the Morse throttle cable pushes.
I guess this was changed in the mid 70's.
My question is: am I correct in assuming I need to change the throttle assembly and cables so I can install Perfect Pass?
I have found the necessary stuff from Discount Inboard Marine, Morse MV2 throttle assembly & cables.
Or is there a cheaper way to solve this problem?

    Thanks... terribletodd

I would say yes, it's a safety issue. Call perfectpass: (902) 468-2150 they have good support.

The safety issue is not with PP.
PP will plain just not work.
The safety issue was taken care of in the mid 70's with boat manufacturers switching from push to pull.

I'll be switching out the throttle control & cables.
I just thought maybe someone had come across this problem and knew of an easier way.

        Thanks....... tt

          Yep.
          Same boat.
It was previously owned by Phil "Philthy" Dixon of West Palm Beach, FL.
I take it you were at the Florida Fly-in in 2003.
          Definately a fun time!

            Just to clarify...

By safety issue I meant that the PP is designed so it can never throttle more than the lever in a pull situation. In a push situation, if you could make it work, it would have the ability to throttle the boat more than the lever.

I remember out little 1972, we used to take it out into the San Francisco bay, great little boat.

Yep, that's where I saw it... very eye-catching, can't forget a boat like this...
