PCM engines /ECM in Nautiques have an OBD-II port?

Anybody know if PCM uses the standard OBD-II port for ECM codes and other info and where it is located? Thanks.

They have the port, but you will need the diacom software to use it.

Thanks! Looking to capture the data using some of the inexpensive auto OBD-II devices now available.

If you find something that works post it . The cheapest scanner I have found is 500.00.

Not sure what year you are looking for but I have an 02 PCM APEX GM 5.7L and use the software & cable below. It allows scanning, monitoring, logging, etc but no changes to the ECM.

Would like to find a "budget" version for a ZR6. Only find the original diacom and they are $$$.

In the long run do you think the DIACOM software is really that much?? I have seen it on eBay as low as $400 and from the manufacture it is only like $579.00. The only problem getting it from Rinda might be that they do not, or cannot or will not sell it to a regular joe, but only to a dealership/mechanic. How many trips to a dealer would it take to recoup this initial cost? If you have a boat that you keep or always have a boat, it seems that it would be a pretty good deal at diagnosing problems at home, especially given we all do not live within a 15 minute drive of a Nautique dealership. I would imagine the closest to me is in the upstate of SC, or possibly White Lake in NC. That would be a 3-5 hour trip one way for me each time.

I just thought of something.... this software is pretty close to the cost of a spare prop.... seems an easy way to save a weekend of boating.

Anyone can purchase Diacom software. The problem is more knowing the password and gaining access to change something in the ECM as this is often set by the engine manufacturer. But for diagnostics, Diacom works fine. I was more thinking about incorporating the consumer targeted software/hardware devices that relay certain information about the engine to iOS apps. Having real time evaluation of some additional engine parameters, which these devices allow, would allow you to fine tune your driving habits to maximize fuel efficiency and potentially allow you to see a problem starting before the ECM throughs an error code.

Boats do not use OBD-II. Its not even Ford or GM's OBD-I. You need a MEFI connector/cable and software package.

^^^Thank you. I thought that from the very first post. But I was too worried I was wrong and would look like an idiot.

Thanks! I know my last Indmar had MEFI but was not sure if newer PCMs also had an OBD-II and was not near my boat the last month. Bummer, there could have been some nice data out of the OBD-II port that we could have added to an iOS app for monitoring your boat engine.

MEFI does display a full compliment of live real time sensor data, its just not the universal OBDII protocol thats found on 06 - present cars and trucks.you just need the corrector and software that speaks the right language Heres a thread with some MEFI data screen shots

This is an old thread but I hope this helps. My buddy has a CodeMate ECM trouble code tool P/N 94008 Ronda Technologies, Inc. I would say it was very helpful in clearing a code for "Ignition Fault See Dealer". It seems to have been related to a spurious Oxygen Sensor Inactive signal. The challenge was finding the plug in port which was hidden in plain sight on top of the engine. The boat is a 2005 Air216 with the ZR-6 motor. Good luck, to whomever comes across this.

Another bump to an old thread:

My alarm was going off every minute for Knock Sensor Malfunction. I bought a scan tool and successfully cleared code 44 (sensor malfunction, not an actual knock which is 43) on a 2006 SN196 Ltd.

I bought the boat one month ago (May 2020), seller had his dealer fix the same issue one month ago, they replaced the sensor and reset the code. Fault returned after he put 5 hours and I put 5 hours on it. I replaced spark plugs (dry burnt look) and fuel that turned orange after 5 minutes exposed to air, I have plug wires and fuel filters on the way from NP.

I performed a test that to me confirmed the knock sensor is okay. I bought another new one, moved the wire from the installed one to the new one not installed. Connected housing of new one to block ground with alligator clip wire. Wrapped it in a beach towel so it would not experience a shock and test drove the boat. Fault code alarm did not go away as my dealer said it would if I fixed the root cause (stored code would stay of course). I think dealer was wrong, the code has to be cleared manually.

I bought the Codemate #94008 scan tool mentioned in 2018 post above locally (Detroit area) from Michigan Motors (great shop, lots of marine supplies) for $100 (they ship also). My engine has the diagnostic connector top front center, mated to a connector that feeds the POS Gateway box (top left of photo), so I had to disconnect it. It also has a single wire connector connected to one pin on the engine side matching the one going to the Gateway box (bottom of photo), so there is only one that fits the scan tool (top right in photo), and two that don't. I suspect the extra loose connector is used as a jumper if you disconnect the one to the Gateway box. The tool worked exactly as the instructions. I may or may not have resolved the root cause, but obviously the dealer did not either.

Any questions, feel free to msg me, I have more photos.
                              ~Bruce
