    Resetting computer

Does anybody know how to reset the computer on a 06 210? the dash alarm keeps going off, reading "ignition fault, see dealer"

now before you say take it to the dealer, it was them who set it off when they were testing the engine. Aparently there is some sort of procedure to reset it, but they didn't know. i'd driven 2 hours to pick the boat up so i wasn't going to leave it there, plus they were pretty clueless.

    Cheers

    RE: Resetting computer

I'm not sure how CC or PCM has it set up, but with a lot of cars if you disconnect the battery for a certin number of hours it resets the computer. It might be worth a shot, and definatly worth a shot before taking it to a dealer.

      RE: Resetting computer

If the dealer set it off and doesn't know how to reset it, I think I'd find another dealer. Sorry, for not offering a solution, but that is just crazy. Good luck.

i dont think u would need disconect the battery, pulling the fuse for it would probly do it. keep the fuse out for like 20 seconds and see if it works

Ya, anything that opens the circuit. Not limited to pulling a batt. connection.

There is a way to do a reset, and pull the codes wirh a paper clip. and a test light, but I do not know the specifics of the procedure. You might be able to do it with an ODB-II scan tool, but I do not know if that is available in Australia. You might try contacting PCM directly.

you are correct. i got some really good feedback directly from Correct Craft. Everything but the exact procedure. that **** beeping sound is pretty annoying, but hopefully sort it out today.

                      thanks

Hmmm I was just thinking about this yesterday. Do the new boat motors come with a OBDII scan port?

By the way, pulling the neg. off the battery is the same as pulling the fuse, provided the fuse is the one to the computer. On a car at least.

As I said earlier, anything that opens the circuit.

But Nawteak said he tried it and it didn't work.
