    2004 SANTE ballast leak

My port side rear ballast tank is leaking during filling. After some investigation it looks to me that somehow its leaking out of the drain pump during filling. Or somewhere around the drain pump, as its not that easy to see under the tank. Has anyone had anything like this or some advice for me. As the boat is kept in storage Im hoping to have as much info on the possible cause before I go work on it, possibly removing the tank. Thanks

Could be one of a few things. Could be cracked where the pump threads into the tank, hose could have come off the pump, or the hose could have split. You will just have to unscrew the mounting brackets and pull the tank up to take a look under there to see whats going on. While you have it out just replace it with a fly high 750. Repeat on the other side. You won't regret it!

Hard to say for sure, but it's not hard to pull the tanks, I think it took me a couple hours.

Gday NZ, I have got the EXACT same problem. Port tank, fills perfectly, but wont drain via drain pump. Leave it over night and it will leak back into the hull and pump out via the bilge. When the boat is switched off I can hear the water leaking slowly out. when I flip the drain pump I can hear it running. I have had a brief look around and worked out that the pump is at the bottom of the tank, underneath it.

My engineer mate has had a very brief look at it and has suggested that it is likely that JWARDS comments are correct - it is causing a loss of suction.

For the record I have an 04 SAN and this model has aerator pumps unless theyve been
        changed out (unlikely).

I have a pump diagram emailed to me if you want.

        Cheers

        Oz

          Thanks for the info guys.
Oz, my problem is a bit different. The tank fills but as it does using a mirror I can see the water coming out from around the drain pump underneath. As that bit of a cavity the pump sits in stays full of water I cant see exactly where the water is actually coming out from. Did you buy you 210 mid-late last year from just out of Melbourne? Was advertised as a Team but actually wasnt? I w
As guys have said just going to have to pull the tank.
