    Fuel Cell Leak - Suggestions?

    Hey guys,

Went to replace the filter in my fuel cell on my 2004 SAN 210, put it all back together and realized it was leaking through the power leads that run through the cell to the pump. They make a repair kit but it's on back order for an unknown amount of time. Has anyone found a work around to seal the wires that run through the top of the fuel cell to the pump?

Call PCM. They will send you one and a fuel filter. You will just need to send back the old electrical connector. Ext. 108

You'll also need a dremel or angle grinder to cut off part of the bracket that covers the hole for the connector. The new ones are brass, taller and larger in diameter.

PCM rules! They care about us. If only Ford would make the 351w again.

I did this repair in 2 nautiques this year. Cover your alternator. It is a little bit magnetic and will grab the shavings from cutting the bracket. I ended up using a magnet to pick up the cuttings since I didn't know about the issue the first time and forgot the second.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah I almost bought one for $85. Thankfully I called pcm first. Decided to do a pump and filter too while it's apart. Only has 350 hours but it's 10 yrs old now so might as well. I had to get the biggest monkey wrench to pull the thing apart! Broke a oil filter strap and didn't budge with one of the fixed oil filter tools!

Been there. Broke 3 oil filter wrenches this summer. Finally found 2 beastly ones and used them at the same time. Lesson learned.. DO NOT USE THREAD SEAL. The o ring or rings based on year are enough. Lube the threads and seals with motor oil should be good.

Lol definitely bought thread seal and would have used it. O ring looks to be in good shape so I'll probably re use it
