    Boardrack bungee cord

I was looking at powder coating my boardracks and I'm trying to remove the bungee cords from the rack system but, I can't seem to seperate the end peices. I appears as if there is a pin through the piece and then the inside peice slides out but, I'm not sure. Nor has it even moved after I've drilled out what I thought was the pin.
Are the end pieces a one time use item?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    RE: Boardrack bungee cord

If you slide a small flat blade screw driver between the two pieces and release the tab that locks the two together, you can pull them apart without damaging them. The inner piece is folded in half with two channels in it. The channels have small barbs that catch the bungee cord and keep it from pulling through when it is assembled. The parts are available from your dealer if there are some that are damaged. The best thing to do, is cut one of the "covers" off one so you can see how they are assembled. The one you drilled would be a great candidate for this. Also there is no pin. That part is just a molded on barb that catches the outter cover that holds the inner cover in place.
