I have a 1995 Ski Nautique with a Ford 351 PCM engine. I have a pair of GT40 heads that have been overhauled. Would it be advantageous to retrofit the GT40 heads on my standard 351 engine. Is there anything I should be aware of e.g. valve clearance. I do not have fuel injection, just a standard Holley 650 carb. Should I do it?

RE: GT40 cylinder heads
If I am not mistaken that's the major difference between the 260 and 285hp engines. How many hours on you 95? I would do heads and cam if it needed.

RE: GT40 cylinder heads
There was a recall on GT-40 cylinder heads around the 1995 time frame. I had mine replaced on my 95 SN. It may be beneficial to call PCM to confirm these heads are SAT. The problem with mine, was cracks around the spark plugs leaking raw water.
