I just installed an extreme steering cable and then water tested it and everything went flawlessly! The next day I take it out and drove it around for hours then all of a sudden the steering wheel starts vibrating loudly under the helm at around 38 mph. The gear box is tight and it only does this at higher speeds or rpm's. What should I look at? Thanks!

The same thing happened to me. I also assumed it was the cable job, but it ended up being a slight ding in my prop (hardly noticeable with the eye). I don't what I hit or remember hitting anything, but that was it just the same. The boat started to vibrate at around 3,900rpms, and got pretty bad at WOT.'08 196LE (previous)

Yep, happened to me as well. The reason you've never felt it before was your old cable was so stiff the vibration wasn't violent enough to be able move the cable. Now you have a silky smooth new cable any small amount of feedback from the rudder will easily be felt through the steering wheel.
