When I go to start my 2008 220, I engage the warm-up lever and push the throttle forward, hit the start button and don't get any RPMs no matter what position the throttle lever is in. If I run the boat every week, it will start but only at an idle until I engage it in forward or reverse. Any ideas what might be causing the warm-up not to work?

what's a "warm up lever"? Do you mean you put the throttle in neutral and push it forward to give it some rpms then press the start button?Migs

That shouldn't be necessary with a fuel-injected engine. Migs, yes the warm up lever is placing it in neutral and gaining RPMs at start-up.
NautiqueJeff, I agree. I wouldn't think you would need it either, but I had it not start once without it after it sat a month. When the lever was working, it always started. I thought maybe it might be something in the throttle box that might have come loose but I have taken it apart yet to see. I was hoping someone might have had the problem so I could pinpoint it quicker!

on old two-stroke outboards that I had we would term that "putting it in fast idle" to get it to start when cold. on fuel-injected boats like these iv'e never done it ... if you are having to do that to get it running i'm thinking there might be other problems?2003 SANTE - "OG 210"
