    Electrical/staring issue

I got my 2006 196 out of storage and it fired right up, I did my spring mtc and trailered it to the river for a ride. When I got to the ramp, it acted as if the battery was dad. It would take my start code, then the radio would come on, then the fuel pump would run but just a tick upon pushing the start button. Battery tested good after that. But then also, the Orange lights that are on each button on the dash pod began to get dim, and light speratically as I pushed them. So, with a good battery, where do I begin to trouble shoot this?

Mind you, the battery was charged when I put it in the boat, and 1 push of the start button she fired up. Now nothing.

put a load box on the battery and give it a real test. have seen them measure 12 v and when loaded, drop below 8. could also put a voltmeter on the battery terminals while trying to start, should hold voltage above 11 volts while cranking.

scott- been there with tractor batteries every day. they test good - but they are not. the best best is in a working boat- witch you probably have.

After testing with a multi meter, the battery tested at 13. something V but the positive wire, just behind the terminal was testing at 4V. There was just a tiny bit of corrosion on the copper wire, I cleaned it and problem solved. I never thought that tiny bit of corrosion could drain that much power, but it did.
