G23 transmission fluid change

I'd like to change the tranny fluid in my friend's G, but I can't unscrew the dipstick! There's a huge hose - I'm guessing the exhaust hose - in my way. How do you guys check/change your G's tranny fluid? If you remove that hose, is it hard to put back on?

I did not have to remive any hoses to change the tranny oil in my G?

Huh. This one is a 2013 with the zr450.
