I dont believe there is anyway to increase the hours on the new meter from what I've read. After the installation following the instructions, my speedometer is reading approx 5 mph less than what the boat is going. This remains the issue with the calibration dial turned up the entire way. Has anyone had any similar issues? Extremely frustrating given that I just dumped money into fixing a problem caused by the manufacturer and it still doesn't work well.

You can run up the hours on the Faria replacement tach. It involves purchasing a sinewave generator for about $50 and some alligator clips for it and powering it off a 12v source via USB. There was a write up on it here somewhere. I purchased all the hardware to do it but having gotten around to it yet. My GT40 has 660 hours on it via the original perfect pass guage. My teplacement Faria tach reads 120 hour so I plan on adding the hours to the Faria to sync with the actual hours of boat. Hopefully me or someone here can find the thread and post a link here to it. I think it was in the DIY forum.

If your speed is off I would look at the paddle wheel assembly. All of the speed for the Farina upgrade comes from the paddle wheel. I installed the Stargazer upgrade and just haven't gotten back to it.

So the people at Nautique Parts finally got back to me regarding the speed issue. In addition to the fine adjustment (the silver knob that mounts to the dash) there is a coarse adjustment on the back of the speedometer itself. It is simply a plastic looking screw that you turn with small screw driver. When turned it will click. One click makes significant difference on the reading.

OCD got the best of me so I ended up replacing the other four gauges to match the Faria speedometer/tach. They're the Coral Series.

For those that still don't want to replace the original gauges... I did a fix that tightened the LCD to the circuit board as documented in this thread. Lasted one season. I did another fix last year that seems to work. I bought a circuit writer conductive pen from radio shack and redrew the lines on the ribbon cable to the LCD. A super steady hand and good eyes helps. I didn't take pictures as I wasn't sure it would work and it was a really a shot in the dark. Well, two seasons later still working fantastic. I really wanted to just get the hours off the tach. Took this picture a couple days ago. If someone wants to send me a gauge with the LCD out I'll try to fix it and take lots of pictures.

I wouldn't charge anything but couldn't really guarantee it either. I would post pictures and how I did it and others could do the same. I am really happy having the old gauges working. I spend summers in Northern idaho so you could send it here.

While this is an older post, I have a 2000 Ski Nautique with the Teleflex gauges.. same problem. I got the RPM gauge opened up and the ribbon cable is loose. It does work when I press on it. Will work on it. One thing Im trying to understand and maybe someone has some history on it... On the back of the gauges, is there a manufacturer date on the gauge? I have a suspicion mine were replaced with another set of teleflex. There looks like a date of 11/05 on the back, but not sure if this is a date or something else. Im not overly concerned on the hours because the boat I found is pristine and super clean. The hour gauge shows 83.3 hours which Im doubting are original, but was trying to build a history profile of the boat. If Teleflex dated their gauges.. then I would assume only 83 hours were put on the boat since 2005-2018. Which would be amazing to me.

I looked at a couple of old gauges. The speedo from my 2002 has a sticker 253/02. I bought a replacement tach that was also failed 193/02.. A replacement fuel gage 254/06,

New owner of a 2001 SAN and new PN member (awesome site BTW). Anywho... I THINK I'm fairly up to speed on the digital Teleflex issue (both my digital speedo and tach have failed) and I've tried to read all of the threads on this matter, but if I'm not wanting to install a PP system, nor a GPS speedo, nor a paddle wheel, does anyone have experience w/ just installing an inexpensive new analog speedo (about $30) that ties into existing pitot line system? And any idea if I can tap into existing pitot lines that are running into the gateway box (haven't located that gizmo yet) b/c as I understand it there is not going to be enough excess tube length to run from the gateway box up to my new speedometer. Or should I run new lines all the way back to my pitot's at the stern?

                              Any insight appreciated!
