    Cracked Block...

I have a 2000 SAN 210 with the GT40. Im stupid and apparently didnt get all the water out of the engine over the winter and froze and cracked the block. Question is, will a Ford 351W block work with all the PCM manifolds and such or is there a specific block they built for PCM? Thanks in advance.

How bad and where is the crack on the block? If not too bad there are many ways to patch, weld.

Any 351W block should work for you. Nothing special was done for PCM, they were just regular 351W blocks and then PCM marinized with their cam, fuel system, etc. Good luck!

Im not sure how bad the crack is. My service guy found it. I have welded on several and it worked, but he seems to think its a far stretch for that. and thank you for the replies. I am going to stop by and check it out tomorrow.

I did a similar stupid thing years ago but instead of the engine block it was the manifolds. Go easy on yourself and good luck.

Clarification: you will want to use a 83+ block if you plan to reuse your crank.

Sweet! Next Question... My heads appear fine so a short block I think is the way to go. That being said are the pistons and crank the same? Ive always dealt with car engines, I am very new to marine engines.
