    Removing gas struts

    I'm trying to replace the gas struts on my 2000 Air Nautique. They are supposed to "pop off". I was able to remove one with a rubber mallet, but no luck with the rest of them. They do pop on rather easily. Any suggestions?

    they have a flat metal ring around it right before the end "bubble". Lift that ring with a flat head screwdriver & it will pop right off.

      Migs is correct, but I also like the mallet approach.
