Orbital buffer= Porter cable PC 7424. (Maybe spendy but it's completely worth it!)

Best wax for the marine environment: Synthetic wax I've had good luck with Meguiars NXT stuff. But pretty much any wax will do. Keep in mind however that any wax or sealant is probably going to be gone in a month or so with regular useage.

Zymol used to be good wax (well it still is so long as you purchase the more expensive stuff and not the stuff you find at wall mart/auto parts store.) The cheap Zymol is made by Turtle Wax these days. Turtle Wax is regarded as pretty low grade stuff.

I use Turtle Wax, but haven't tried other so can't say if its the best from experience. Also used a 10" Craftsman buffer, but I wouldn't get it again b/c its very hard to find replacements pads, go with something more generic...

I havent tested many wax's But it a good question and with out making it to complicated it would be a good head to head test.

Some of the things that I look for in a good wax.

#1 Is it easy to apply and remove
#2 Dose it darken or richin the color of the surface
#3 How long does it last?

Its hard to say whats the best. Like I said I havent tryed many diffrent ones. I use the Meguyers Pure Boat Wax.

I think people with colord hulls and decks can better see the benifits of a good wax over people with white gell.

I like Rejex from www.corrosionx.com You do need to follow their directions. Apply when temps below 85 and let it cure 12 hours before use. I use it on my cars and boat. It is great on windshields also. I wax the boat 2-3 times a year. Their product corrosion -x is great also

I've been using Formula 113 for 9 years now on all of my show cars and Nautique's. Cut it with water in a spray bottle, and use it like a detailer. Glass, plastic, paint, use it in direct sunlight. I promise you it's the easiest wax you'll ever try. www.formula113.com that's a pic of the side of my SRT8!

Nice shine!!! When you say cut it with water and use it like a detailer, what ratio of water to 113 do you use and do you just spray on and wipe off or how exactly do you get that shine??? Thanks. Man that shine reminds me of my military days!!! Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Thanks for the kind words guys. I use the one step cleaner wax. The Speedy wax is the wax already cut with water for you . My way is cheaper. By the 16.oz bottle of wax, get a 32 .oz spray bottle. Take the wax and squeeze the bottle to the count of 8 into the empty spray bottle.. Fill it with water about 2" from the top and shake well. Done!!
Spray it on any clean surface, taking a good qaulity towel to apply, and then turn the towel and buff off right away. No need to wait. The ONLY surface, for example, in the Nautique that you can't use it on is the interior. But the entire windshield, gelcoat, decal's, flat black paint, plastic...etc...I use the Bead X detailer to detail my "stuff" for a quick refresh. Bead X can be used on windows, hard vinyl, paint,chrome, finished wood. etc. If you have any question's pm me for my phone number and I'll be more than happy to help.
