    How to clean factory hull

My boat was shipped with some kind of wax protection that I cannot remove with a water pressure machine. I have also tried with diluted Hydrochloric acid with no result.
    What i
s the simplest way to remove it? I would hate to use a polisher as I have no lifting device.

If it is wax Dawn dish soap and hot water may be an option.

      Hola Paxdad,
Not sure if it´s wax. I though all new boats were shipped with the same coating. It came on the trailer with a transportation plastic cover leaving free just that area. You can see that yellowish line along the hull (the strange coating is below it). It is not sticky as wax but is rougher than polished gelcoat....

There is a product called On Off Hull Cleaner. It is an acid based product and works very well on stained hulls that have set in water over a period of time. I would also try either MEK or Acetone in a small area to see if it cuts the material that you describe as being rough.

I agree with Acetone. You might also call the factory. My guess is they put it on for international shipments. I've not seen it before.

Nice looking boat! My son wants to do an international study in Spain. I'll send him over to clean it, if you provide the housing. He's also a good driver.

              Hi Swankster,
I am in Barcelona. If he decides to come over, call me and we´ll see. I cannot give housing for a whole year but he can stay with us (my 16 year old son and I ) for a couple of weeks. At least, I can guarantee wake, city guidance and contacts.
