    Install underwater lights

Just puchased some SeaBlaze X underwater lights today.
Is my 220 prewired for underwater lights ? There is a switch in the panel but boat is at lake so I can not check if there wires near the transom of the boat.
As anyone have experience installing underwater lights using the swith pad in the boat ? thanks

I would say that based on the year of you boat it is not pre-wired for UW lights. However, you can use the 12 volt switch on your dash. When I installed my UW lights I put in a separate switch. There was a recent post in this section where the member used the dash switch for his LED interior lights and if I recall there is a number 11 on the junction box under the dash that you plug into.

I have a 06 220 SANTE. I used the navigation light switch on the panel for 2 lumitec seablaze. In the engine compartment near the transom there is a plug for a nav light in the factory harness. I got the male end off ebay. I haven't had any issues.

        Silver,
That is good to know. I am going to look for the plug tonight when I get to the boat.

If you have a switch for U/W lights then you probably can wire it to that switch. You will have to obtain a factory pin out schematic for your particular boat. I did this on a 2009 230 and just had to fabricate a 'pin' to fit.

I think this was the plug I used for the OEM harness
