    2014 G21 shaft snapped

I know I have seen a thread on hear about shaft shear on 2013's but supposedly the 2014's had a tranny change and different shafts to resolve the issue. Driving home from a pull last night and without any warning just lost power. No lights or warnings on the Linc so just for fun I got in and felt for the prop...........and nope! I'm sure a few phone calls today will get the ball rolling on a resolution and I'm hoping its covered in the warranty but I can't see this being a weekend turnaround at the shop so there goes the summer. Considering there is no way that you can notice signs of this happening with pre or post ride inspections I would imaging the only way to find out is when it happens which kind of sucks. Not my first boat and I learned long ago to store a small trolling motor so we could at least get back to the house. We try grab the sunset ski for butter and are usually the only boat out there so I'm glad we had it or it would have been a long swim back. I would maybe say get the VIN off your boat and contact CC to see if your shaft is in the range of boats that have broke and see if there is a recall or not cause that was not a fun experience!! Nautique sent me a response to just take it to a shop 150 miles away and they'll handle it. Still upset but what can you do?

Carrying a trolling motor. Great idea. I suggested the same a while back that all g series should just come with one or owner should get one.

Sorry to here this. I thought the problem was fixed. What prop did you have on it?

I'm going to have to get a trolling motor and replace it for my two paddles I keep on the boat, since my two teenagers are not always on the boat.

One other thing, how do you mount the trolling motor. Are you using transom mount and clamping it to swim platform?

I wonder if you could add a hydraulic swim platform to a G, the same way bigger boats do. A Jet Ski would weigh less than some ballast sets i've seen...

I was told by our dealer that this is a recall. They changed our shaft about a month ago under warranty even though we had not had any problems.

When we had out boat in for service/storage over the winter, our shaft was replaced without our request. I believe that Nautique had a service bulletin on it. Contact you dealer and I am sure they along with Nautique will have this resolved ASAP for you.
