smoke coming from muffler area on 2007 SANTE 220 5.7L PCM

Worked the boat pretty hard today. End of the day I smelled burning plastic/rubber. Digital temp has been consistent 160 deg. Higher at idle but drops as soon as we get rolling. The smoke was coming from the area where the flex pipe from the manifold connects to the muffler. This was the hardest I have run the boat since I got it last year. no warnings and alarms just something toasting in the engine compartment. I also changed the impeller about 10 hours ago. Boat also has a fresh air exhaust put on about 20 hours. ANy ideas??? Thanks

Check for blocked manifolds/risers, this happened to my boat and the cooking hose sections of the exhaust smoke quite badly.

Here is a follow up to this issue. The problem is now fixed. Looks like the flush-pro was the culprit. I hooked my garden hose up to her to try to flush the system and see if I had water flowing to the starboard riser and the flush pro exploded at the glued joint. the strainer had its fair share of crud in it too. Reduced flo from the strainer and inevitable air from the compromised flush pro combined to keep enough water from getting to the starboard riser. I am amazed at how much better this boat runs when the cooling system is working properly. night and day
