    Replace snap on a cover?

I have no idea whether this fits in the technical discussion, but since it will likely involve tools, swearing, trips to [Lowes|Home Depot] and beer, I'm under the assumption that this fits!

The snaps in the center of my cover have come un-done (for the ones that support to keep water from pooling). My cover is one of the Carver Customs from NautiqueParts.com made of snubbers, but I can't seem to figure out how to replace them in an easy fashion.

    Suggestions?

Are these the typical domed, chrome (on the exterior of cover) and have the female snap (with steel ring inserted in)? These are standard marine types, You can get a package of these at hardware store, includes the die and swedge tool that you smack with a hammer to install.

ID:	465814 It sucks if you only have to do one, but.... there is a "proper" tool... called the "hoover pres-n-snap" tool. I bought one a few weeks ago to put the snaps in the new ski locker carpet. I ended up finding it on 4th of july sale for just over $120 shipped. (ouch...)

I have never had luck with the bottom form and post you try to hammer the rivet end over with, as pictured above.

You might be able to just call a local canvas shop, I am sure for $10 they will put a snap in there for you and you will save ordering them online and the frustration of trying to get one to hold correctly.
