I have a 1987 ski nautique 2001 and in the next few months i want to get a four blade prop. How can i tell if i have a one to one tranny,so i know what prop to order. With the ballast i have in there and the people, i have to floor the boat to get it up and out of the whole. So im trying to see what prop to go with so i can use less fuel and be easier on the engine and drive train.I did a search and could find what i was looking for. Thanks for the help.

RE: How can i tell if i have a one to one tranny?
You can tell because your boat is made before the 1989 model, when they released the redux trans.

Thats way too easy...
Make a large easy to see line mark on the shaft coupling at the transmission then have someone drive the boat down the lake at 3500 RPM's and while they drive you count the revolutions of the shaft. If the shaft turns 3500 revolutions like the engine is then it s a 1-1 trans.
ONLY kidding....Although this is what a 1-1 trans does.
Yes the 1-1 Borg Warner Trans was used up to the start of the 1989 model year.Lack of proper planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

The engines with a 1:1 are set at an angle.2008 Super Air 210 Team

I think more important than the tranny is the prop you now have. It should be stamped on the prop either between 2 blades or on the end under the nut. If you need more hole shot and can live with a little less top speed I would suggest going down a couple of inches of pitch. I'll bet you are running a 13X13X1" You could try a 13X11 or 13X10. I happen to have a 14X10 3 blade you could try. If you like it keep it for $100.00 Let me knowNautiqueless in San Diego

There used to be a discount/GB setup through pn.com I think, so you might want to check the classified section. The cheapest I've found on the web was boarditup.com.
