Over the past 50 hours, I have had to add 1 quart of trans fluid. When I pull the boat out and pull the drain plug, the water has an oily haze. Is there a common problem area I should look for?

Kind of an older thread, but it does seem that if it involves front or rear seals, that BOTH the tranny AND v-drive unit may have to come out. I haven't pulled a transmission out of a v-drive boat, and I don't know if a 210 has the removable floor section to be able to get a little easier access to the v-drive and transmission for things like that.

IF it is slow enough, I would almost want to nurse it along until winter, but.. you run the risk of a seal completely blowing out and leaving you stranded.

Its pretty slow. Like I said, 50 hours and I have added 1 quart total in small increments. Ill give that thread a look. Thanks
Edit- His issue is WAY more excessive than mine. All I get is a oil sheen reflection off the water when I pull the drain plug at the ramp.Last edited by brock.higdon; 07-19-2015, 08:56 PM.

Yup, and that is why if it were me I would just keep an eye on it. I would hate to give up my boat for an unknown amount of weeks in July, if I could nurse it along till the winter... then if the dealer (or me) takes a few weeks... no biggie... a few weeks now would be a loss of 6-8 times on the river, maybe??? in prime boating season.
The only thing that does worry me is I did have a Malibu Sunsetter (it was a direct drive) that had a similar situation, minor leak and then one day did decide to just finally bust or rip the seal the rest of the way and all the tranny fluid was dumped in the bilge. I boat on a relatively small river and did get a 5 minute pull back to the dock. If I was on the big lake, it might have been a while to get a pull back.
