2007 SANTE 236 Perfect Pass Issue

I have recently run into an issue with the perfect pass and/or faria gateway on my 2007 SANTE 236.

I bought this boat two years ago. Recently after purchasing, I noticed the PerfectPass gauge display went blank. I read on this forum that the PP can get condensation/display issues and I just wrote it off as a future fix to the boat. I didn't use the PP a lot, but as I am getting more into surfing I definitely want this capability.

Two weeks ago, I went to take the boat out, and on start the PP made a constant beep sound. I read on this forum one or two other people dealing with this issue. Combined with the beep... the boat would not go past about 5 mph. That weekend I was taking some friends out and 5mph wasn't going to cut it, so I unplugged the PP system from the dash to at least make the beep stop. It did, and the throttle was no longer limited at 5mph. However, even with the suspected busted PP system disconnected, the boat wouldn't go faster than 18mph. Throttle seems normal, it just doesnt go past specific speeds.

With the PP out, I think I may have a combo of issues. It could be a display issue with the PP and now a fair gateway issue. I called the gentlemen recommended in this forum at PP and he suspected two issue. One possible issue is the PP system somehow got set to 5 or 18mph and without a display I can't reset it. The other issue is a possible partial gateway failure. On nautiqueparts that a new gateway is 1300, which I would rather not do. I have no other issues with gateway connected items. Here is my requested support from people smarter than me on troubleshooting (almost anyone).

    1. Is this a PP issue or a gateway issue?
    2. Where is the gateway located. I know in newer boats its typically in the stern, but I haven't found it yet (didn't look too hard).
    3. What is the cheapest repair solution. PP offered a new system that doesnt connect to gateway but uses GPS (roughly $750)
    4. Any experience with either of these possible problems

Is your boat DBW or does it have the servo motor? Can't recall the year Nautique swapped

My guess. Just because you disconnected the display doesn't necessarily mean PP is completely out of the loop. You have to disconnect the master module as well.
