    Sticky throttle on 99 SN

My SN has a very specific catch in the throttle in the range of idling. I mostly feel it when Im pulling back into neutral. Im the 3rd owner so not sure but assuming it's the original cable. Just wondering if it's an option to try to lubricate the cable of just time to replace it?

You might try cleaning the throttle body. On mine, the flame arrestor started oxidizing, and white powder made the throttle plate sticky. In my boat's case, though, it was coming from neutral going into gear, just off idle.

Sounds like transmission cable not throttle. The throttle cable doesn't move much in the first inch. Only the transmission cable moves. Once you've moved the lever far enough and engaged the transmission the throttle cable should start to move. It is all mechanical so the cables have to be adjusted properly for that. Disconnect the cable from the transmission. Any change? This will help isolate a sticky neutral safety switch but won't help yell.much if the cable is bad. You can disconnect either or both cables at the shifter assembly. Best to take the wood and vinyl cover off to take a look. 6 nuts I think with silicon on them.
