Trying to reinstall the strut on my 2007 220. This was a complete rebuild, including a new prop shaft. The strut bushing is in very good condition - shouldn't need replaced. However I cant just reinstall the strut without the shaft hitting a bind where it enters the boat. I've read about shimming the strut and/or grinding the strut to make this work. Anyone have more insight - like a general step-by-step? I figured I could use a feeler gauge and get this close, but wanted to hear some tips/tricks to make this as aligned as possible.
