When I go from running speeds to idle, the oil pressure drop and I get a low pressure indication message. When I go back to running speeds, the oil pressure is very steady My gauges aren't the most reliable, but this seems like at low speeds a oil recirculation valve may be stuck open. Is this a possibility?

Shell Rotella T Triple Protection meets the API Classification of SM as recommended by PCM.

Here's my plan to get through the weekend
1. pump out the oil and leave the filter
2. replace the oil with new Shell Rotella T Triple Protection (15W-40)
3. Pull the girls up and down the river for about 5 hours.
Think it will work?

Use the Rotella as A recommended, change the filter, they are cheap, use a motorcraft FL-1A, be sure the old gasket comes off with the old filter.
Boat full of teenage girls sounds like my every weekend. Was a lot more exciting when I was a teenager also, lolLast edited by Quinner; 08-13-2015, 12:39 PM.

Definitely change the filter (FL-1A) at the same time as your oil as if you don't you will be leaving approximately a quart of old oil in your engine potentially diluting the overall viscosity of the new oil. Plus you'll have a quart of dirty oil still in your engine. Filter is remotely mounted (right?) so it should be easy to get to.
