    Throttle cable/linkage troubleshoot help

    1996 Super sport....
So something strange happened suddenly. Halfway through the day my wife claimed the boat had zero power and would not move. When i checked it out, that wasn't really the case, and i got us back to the dock.
When the throttle lever is moved forward or backward into the 'first click' position, the boat clicks into gear and idles forward like it should. Now when you go into full throttle is where the problem starts....if i push the throttle up to its usual full range of motion,

If you have PP remove the engine cover and check for slop where the throttle linkage joins the PP cable. Mine has habit of working itself undone causing throttle issues.

If you have no throttle at all it could be that your throttle cable is broke. Mine snapped a few months ago and when i pulled it out to put the new one in i found it was broke right inside by the throttle lever. It would go into gear and go through the full range but would not throttle up.

I got it. Its the first time something got fixed the easy way. When i followed the ground wires from perfect pass through the dash one of them broke right in half on me. It would seem the snips got the wire somewhere along the way.
