    Fuel Guage problem

I have a 1999 Ski Nautique. The fuel gauge stopped working. It is positioned far below the Empty mark. Ignition on of off, it does not move. Never saw this before. Is the gauge bad or is it the sending unit? What is the proper procedure to isolate the problem?

Dan, Not sure if your 1999 has teleflex gauges but here is how to troubleshoot the fuel gauge. Jamestown Distributors website has lots of good how to info.

Most common problem is bad sending unit and/or bad wiring connections. Marine environment is hard on wiring. Get out your voltmeter and check connections.

To check the gauge turn on the key and go to the fuel sender then undo the nut which holds the wirer on the middle of the sender and touch this on the other wire which is on the out side of the sender and see if gauge starts to work its way up to fill, if it starts moving nothing is wrong with gauge

Thanks for all of your opinions. Checked it out. it was the gauge. Ordered a new one and it works just fine.

          Thanks to all
