Engine Temp guage issues 2006 SANTE 210

Since I've owned this boat for about 2 months now, I've noticed that the engine temp guage has never worked. The other day I finally took the dash off so I can gain access to the backside of all the guages and start the troubleshooting. What I noticed is that all of these guages are daisy chained which I thought was odd, but as I pulled the temp guage out, I plugged it back in holding it in my hand and turning on the boat. I felt the guage hum as it appeared that it has power and was attempting to work. The guage does have power. I don't see any issues with popped fuses on the breaker. The guage "seems" fine. However, I'm thinking this must be a sensor issue and I don't know where that is located. It seems hard to back-trace the wires and was hoping to post on here for somewhere else to check for the temp guage sensor.
Unless this has something to do with what I ready about the Faria guage issues that Jeff has posted for a fix?

None of my other guages are having problems and work just fine! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Another way to check if it is the sensor or gauge would be check what the digital display at the bottom of the RPM or speedo read for engine temperature. you should be able to scroll through the parameters to see the engine temp. If it is reading correctly, the temp gauge may have a failed stepper motor (moves the needle), or gears or..... Plus, the gauges are not super expensive, but I would hate for you to replace a sensor when it is the gauge and have to end up buying both.

edited: should be on page 4-24 of the 2006 v-drive owners manual, that area discusses the digital displays and info available.

uh ohhhhh.... So I started the boat up, noticed the digital ET (engine temp) started off at 80 degrees and then after running it on the hose it jumped up to about 98. The analog guage is still not moving at all. So that told me it could be the guage itself. Then I tried to take off the wiring 2 plug harnest to the digital sensor just after the thermostat housing and then the Coolant alarm went off immediatly. I was able to learn that by pushing all three buttons on the guage, I could reset it. However, after 2 minutes, the beeping starts back up again and I have to reset it. It never did that before and now I'm worried I can't use the boat this weekend. Ughhhhh
