2000 Ski Nautique with GT40 and key pad ignition switch - engine does not turn-off when pushing "Stop". Had to pull safety tether cord to stop engine. Does the pad need to be replaced at approx. $400 or is there something else wrong? Thanks

It is very likely that the keypad is the issue. I had a similar issue with my 2003 210. KJB - I had the exact same issue yesterday. Same exact boat. The keypad was not working (not only stop, but any of the other buttons on it). I was able to lift up the dash and unplug the unit and then when i plugged it back in, it worked. I am thinking of getting a new unit as well - it is acting a bit funny at other times as well.Comment

Thanks for your responses. The other switches on the pad - like the blower switch, did not function as well. I used the boat the following day, after it wouldn't shut-off, and it worked fine. Will replace keypad to insure reliability. Thanks again.Comment

My 2000 PAN randomly has the same problem - engine does not turn off when pushing "Stop". Did replacing the Start/Stop keypad on the left of the steering will fix the problem? This weekend, the lights on the accessory keypad on the right side of the steering wheel stop working. However, the bilge pump still works. Any ideas?Comment
