    2015 G23- Is it nromal during a fresh water flush for water to come out of the stern drive?

    Ok, first off -You do not have a stern drive. You have an Inboard mounted V-Drive. What you are looking at is the through hull packing gland.. I believe that with the flush systems now - it flushes the packing gland as well. Other G owners might want to chime in here. I would have expected your selling dealer to provide this information, especially on a 140K plus boat...

        There is a dripless packing gland system that takes a water feed off the engine's cooling system to lubricate the prop shaft. What you see is the water coming from that system. It is not related to, or has anything to do with the flush system other than when you flush the engine you are going to push water through the dripless packing system.

        These are OK in practice, however if the hose connection to the cap comes loose you will have a bilge full of water in no time. I prefer the more conventional packing method and let it drip a little.
