I just got the plugs and ready to do a plug change.

Do wires need changing as well? Any specs on the wires if so?

I changed the cap, rotor, and plug wires on my 1997 ski, 1967 hours. This year, It started to miss, put new plugs in earlier this year, that helped for a while, but the engine started to miss again. The cap, rotor, and wire change made the engine run good again. I did this at the same time I winterized the boat, took it for a test run, to warm the oil up, for the winter oil change. The boat has been in its long winter's nap since.
I would guess that unless you have around a 1000 hours on your boat, the plug wires are fine, unless there is obvious damage to the wires.
