Gt40 no power to fuel pump

I have a 98 air nautique gt40 EFI and I am not getting power to the low pressure fuel pump. I replaced the pump today thinking it was a bad pump. I removed the fuel line to the FCC and noticed no fuel coming out. Afterwards I checked and had no power to the fuel pump, I'm not hearing the priming of the pump either. I also checked it with a tester. I also replaced relays and jumped the relays also to see if they were maybe bad as well. I hear the clicking of the relay but no priming at the pump. I also checked the negative cable at the battery and it seems fine as well. I've been reading a few posts here today but can't seem to find any additional possibilities. Please.....Anyone's help will be greatly appreciated.

This happened after a few weeks of bad rain down here in s florida where it's kept me from going on the lake. A few times while I was out this summer it did stall out on me as I was cruising. After letting it rest a few minutes it would start right up (if I tried to start it right away it would just turn over but not start)... That's what made me think it was the low pressure pump. Thx again...

I had this issue twice. There was power to the relay but no power to the fuel pump. The first time the dealer went through all the wiring connections and then it worked but never really found anything. the second time the same thing happened and they found corrosion around the fuse on the positive cable that went from the battery to the engine. They replaced the connection and there has not been any issues since. Just one thing to check anyways.

The same problem has been causing me frustration for years. I have a bad wire somewhere between relay and low pressure fuel pump, I think I've narrowed it to one of the grounds going to the bolt on the back of the motor. Usually in the midst of me wiggling wires and cutting the harness open I touch the wire and then the fuel pumps primes. Generally does this to me once every season. After I wiggle the wire and get it to prime it doesn't do it for another 365 days. My advice is check ground on back of motor should be about 6 grounds going into bolt by water strainer.

Checked it today and didn't find any fuses.... Also couldn't locate any loose wires. I also checked with a light tester and had power at the relays. Not sure if I tested it correctly though. Each relay had one one pin that would light up. Should I have seen more of the pins light up showing power??

This may or may not help you but I was having this problem once and it turned out to be a loose connection on the negative side of the battery. Not the actual connection at the battery but my 97 had the negative cable come off the battery and go into a little rubber boot that split the ground into different wires. This boot was located in the battery box. I opened up that little boot and the cable was loose there. Sometimes I had power to the relays and sometimes I didn't because of the loose connection. I can take a picture of it tonight if you want as it is a little hard to describe.

If I remember correctly there should be two 12v pins at the relay, you can jump 12v to the fuel pumps and they should run.However If power is there and the relay is good my bet is that there a broken wire or one of the ground has a bad connection not allowing it to run.

Did you ever fix this? I'm havIng the same issue now, no power to the fuel pump. Boat cranks, I have lights, radio but no power to the fuel pump

Have you tried to bypass the relay and run 12v straight to the pump. If I would bet, it's either relay is bad or wire has pulled out of connectors someplace along the line.

Yes, I end up with 6 volt instead of 12 volts. thinking a corrosive ground?

Sorry I just realized I had a message and I never replied..... I ended up getting a mechanic to come fix it.... It was a loose cable that he found. I couldn't locate it myself. So frustrating. I've also recently changed out the throttle body which was causing major issues like stalling out when engaging into gear and difficulty starting the engine as well. Its Running great now. Thx for offering up suggestions.

I'm having this same issue - have power at the relays, but not at fuel pump - wondering where folks say they "jumped the fuel pump" or applied power directly - can anyone explain how to do this? Do you wire with the boats battery or are you using some other power source?
