    Installing Factory Belly Ballast

How hard is it to install a factory belly ballast in a 220 limited sante?

Why do you need a hard tank? why not just put a big sack in the locker?

I only ask because I believe this to be incredibly difficult - like, pull fuel tank, pull transmission, possibly pull engine style difficult... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this should be a horse-shoe shaped tank, which there's not a good way to get into the boat.

Way easier to just add a sac and a pump. You'll get more weight with the sac and the install is way easier. Only way to add the factory hard tank is to remove the floor and a bunch of components.

On the top of that, Nautique is moving to soft tanks on every new model. I had a 220 and with the years and vibrations hardware becomes loose and tanks damage the fiber.
In fact, some people has removed the hard and install soft ones. Check the DIY...

I'll give another vote for bags over tanks. The only thing you might lose with a bag over a tank is a ballast gauge but they are hardly ever accurate anyways. Easy enough to know they are full when water starts coming out of the overflow vent. And if you use Impeller pumps you can hear the pitch change when they are empty. Also a quick visual check of a bag will tell you how full it is. Getting a tank in there would way more work than it would be worth.
